You Have to Know the Story

My parents divorced when I was in elementary school. I lived with my mother in the suburbs of Houston, TX. Like many workings moms she put in long hours.

Through the years our relationship never developed. I started to act out, displaying what professionals would call “independence seeking” behavior.

For most young men this behavior will show around 15-18. For me it was about 12-13. From then on I was constantly in trouble somewhere. I struggled from a lack of governance.

By the time my mother realized the full depth of the problem it was bad for her. I had no DESIRE and no DIRECTION.
